Mental Health and Mental Illness Education

Paddy Kutz, Executive Director

Mental Health America of Licking County offers a helping hand of hope and support to those facing mental health issues. We are a valuable educational, support and advocacy resource to all men, women and children living in Licking County.

We promote good mental health and wellness for all. To be mentally healthy and person must have 3 things: 1. Good self-esteem...feeling valuable and having a positive attitude and recognizing you are not perfect! 2. An ability to get along with others....respecting differences in others and using self-control. 3. Coping strategies to deal with stress in a positive way (not turning to negative behaviors like alcohol and other drug abuse or violence, etc).

We educate about all the mental illnesses, provide free ParenTalk Newsletters to new families (funding provided by the 20th Century Club), teach personal skill building to anyone requesting our training - subjects include: stress management, dealing with difficult people, time management, positive attitude, trauma and loss, conflict and anger management, self- esteem training, cultural competency, communicating effectively, what you need to know about sexual harassment, managing change, violence prevention, depression in the workplace. We can also custom design a program to meet your specific training needs.
