Four Steps to a New Friendship

STEP ONE: JOIN

Complete written application

Schedule interview and discuss program opportunities.

COMPEER volunteers are ages 18-90, come from all walks of life, all races, all religions and urban, suburban and rural neighborhoods. Click  here to join.

STEP TWO: MATCH

Attend Training I: Program Review

Select your one-to-one friend

COMPEER clients range in age from 18-90, and are as diverse as our volunteers.

Clients are referred to COMPEER by mental health professionals. Volunteers receive free training and are matched with clients of the same gender.

STEP THREE: MEET

Meet with friend

COMPEER Staff supports volunteers with on-going professional guidance to facilitate the development of productive friendships.

STEP FOUR:  ENJOY

Spend time with friend

Volunteers are asked to make a commitment of at least one hour per week.
